#HERMAN MILLER REVIT TRIAL#
Examining trial was waived and bond was placed at $1000 which Hill made Monday. A number of buck shot wounds were found in the back of the deceased. No one was in sight near the body and before it could be moved to the house it was necessary for Sheriff Wegenhoft to go to the home of Munnie Wallace and send him out over the country to round up enough help to get the body to the house after the examination had been made. After placing Hill in jail the sheriff got Justice of Peace Mahon and drove to the farm where they found the body of Abe Miller laying in the turn row at the end of a cotton field. Both negroes lived on the Ben Kansteiner farm about six miles north east of Columbus on the Alleyton-Frelsburg road.

Walter Hill, colored, went to jail last Friday evening and surrendered himself to Sheriff Wegenhoft, saying that he had killed Abe Miller.
